BlackBerry Data plan
Please Login to Remove!
I added BlackBerry email and Internet to my T-Mobile UK Solo 20 contract on Monday and was told that it would be added today and so far I have still got gprs showing instead of GPRS, My phone was bought from Argos on T-Mobile Pay As You Go and came with 5 Service Books already on the Phone is this the reason that my BlackBerry data plan has not been added to my account or is it just coincidence?

T-mobile UK are known for not setting it up correctly.
Call 150, press 4 for technical support and explain the problem.
Try doing a battery pull before you call them though, as they will likely ask if you've done that.

Will the pre installed Service Books affect the Data Plan activation, would deleating these before trying a battery pull be better than just pulling the battery?

I've emailed T-Mobile about it as I don't want to be billed outside my allowence for the call because the last time my wife phoned customer services the call was billed outsideher allowence, but knowing my luck they will call when I'm at work
and will have to wait until I get home to check my email. How long do I have to leave the battery out when I do a battery pull?

30 seconds should do, also 150 should be free, though I guess it may depend on the plan.
Emailing gets through to customer services, who understand nothing about the data plans, let alone blackberries, hence the calling is best.
There is the 0845 number to call from a landline.
However, Ive found despite me saying "dont call" they call me.

I've found that to. I rely on my mobile as we do not have a landline so don't really want to spend a fortune on contacting customer services on an 0845 number from my mobile, My Host Routing Table also has no entries if that means anything to this problem.

Ahh. Well you'd just call the 150 number from your mobile. But it would appear it depends on your plan as to whether its free or not. Strange.
Yeh, HST has no entries, because you don't have the data plan activated yet. (the booster).

Got an email from customer services to day and they are going to add the Booster to my Solo 20 Price plan for 7.34 inc. VAT or (£6.38 ex. VAT) every month to get 50 MB of data download allowance.

That booster is ONLY email.
i.e. the 50MB is for EMAIL only. To use internet and apps you need the INTERNET booster AS WELL.
The point is, you bought it with the correct booster, and it just needed setting up correctly.
However, you emailed, and it was customer services, who understand none of how blackberry's are setup.
If you cant call them, email t-mobile and say "Could someone from technical support please call, as I have a problem and could not get through".
This approach has gotten me the correct people on the phone and they called me.
Seriously, you need to actually talk to technical support because you're about to start paying alot more than you actually should be.

I've sorted out my BlackBerry Data plan, the BlackBerry email Booster got added today and I'm going to get free Web n Walk as a gesture of good will, I had to threaten to cancel my contract with T-Mobile if they didn't sort out my BlackBerry Data plan, Web n Walk is supposed to be free on Solo 20 anyway so it saves me having to contact them about that lol.
