Hi all, I live in Australia but my relative is currently in the US until the 24th, can anyone please advise if it is actually possible to get an unlocked 9700 outright/without contract from a physical store at the moment? He is currently in Las Vegas and heading for LA and Chicago. Your help will be much appreciated.

You can buy from T-Mobile tomorrow, monday, US time then unlock it, somehwhere between US$499-$599 + tax, but you may need a T-Mobile customer to buy it, not sure.

Thanks for your response. Not sure if he can have someone already with t-mobile accompanying but I might just ask anyway. Anyone else have any suggestion please?

I can sell you an extra one that i have. I purchased it today from T-mobile i can sell for $600 it is unlocked.

Not exactly a bargain considering the retail price (before unlocking) is only $449+tax, c'mon now!
