I am on T-Mobile using a Bold 9700, on stock FW that it came with (5.0.0.330).

When I get SMS's from some people, their number is displayed and not their name. Some people work and some dont. I have not had this problem with my 9530, 8900, 8520, 8320 and 8310.

Can anyone shed some insight?

I just picked up my 9700 today and am having the same issue. I see that for some reason the numbers that do not have the +1 in front are not showing up.

This has not been a problem in the past. I certainly would love a solution before I have to go through each contact to fix this problem.

Several posts on this.

There is a bug in the OS handling phone numbers with a dash in them.

The workaround (NOT A FIX) is to remove the formatting from the phone numbers (which is awful).

Yea, I had to get rid of the hyphen and parenthesis in a few numbers and it now displays the name.

The parentheses don't matter.
A number formatted as (000)1112222 would be ok.

I just upgraded to 5.0.0.351 OS a couple of days ago which solved this issue.

I just upgraded to 5.0.0.344 and am still having the issue.
