Anyone who is like me and uses tethering as one of their primary internet connections knows how frustrating it is that while tethered, you cannot send or receive BBM's or Emails - basically all BIS features are shut off to accomodate for the fact that your using your BB as a modem.

I recently got the Bold 9700, however, and noticed that I can in fact BBM and Email at the same time as being tethered, with no loss in speed/bandwidth.

I think this is a pretty cool feature.

My 9000 did this as well...I wonder if it was something that was enabled with the later versions of OS 4.6/5.
