First, it's a waste of valuable resources. Young people have discovered these things on their own since mankind's inception. Practically speaking, this is a classic case of a solution that has no corresponding problem.
Second, in the case of the U.S., this is completely outside the scope of government as outlined by our constitution.
And finally, yes, as a parent it creeps me out a little. I want my son and stepchildren to be comfortable with their own bodies, but I also want them to have a healthy respect for not only the act of sex, but also its private and sacred nature. My government is limited in its ability to convey any sort of values by the required separation of church and state.

I see what you mean, I agree with you aswell. Couple of points:
- I dont think this is about the "act of sex", from what I read in the article its about "self-pleasure(masterbation)
- I dont think this is right either but my point directed at Codudette was that this is such a big deal because these people are 14-17. If they were, say, 25 or so I dont think we would care as much. It would be more like "they're adults, they can make their own decisions,if they want to participate in this class, who cares. BUt since they're so young it is quite sensitive. Dont get me wrong though, I dont think this is a good idea but solely because of the age factor..
