I downloaded 5.0.0.230 to my laptop and installed it but Desktop Manager (v5.0.1) does not recognize the new OS and install it on my phone....any ideas?

No I did not, what folder is it in?

I Hoenstly do not remember have not done this in ages, i ussually stick to the releases not betas but if you do a search for vendor, it should come up.

Edit this i swhere it is: Go to c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader and delete the file named "vendor.xml."

Remove the vendor.xml file in the apploader file folder. I really liked this version except for the GPS issue that renders Sprint Navigator unusable and the vibrating/ringing issue. It's noticeably faster and the threaded SMS is cool. I like the way everything is finished also. Oh well, went back to 4.7....157. Hurry up RIM! Even the new Curve has 5.0!!!!!!!!!!!!

My version of .61 has threaded SMS. Is that not true of everyone's?

The interface on 5.0 is really neat as far as threading goes. It's on 4.7 but much cooler on 5.0.
