Voicemail message indicator on- Messages in SMS box. Tour programming rant.

I just switched over from an 8830 to the Tour. I have issues with the voicemail indicator not turning off. After sluething around this site and the Tour I found the offending messages stored in the SMS box. This was not the case with the 8830. What is the solution to this?
In general, not sure I like the different logic used in the Tour, may just be a familiarity thing. The default Browser settings are just wrong, why should you have to change settings just to make it readable without a magnifiying glass?
