The alarm and ringer are not working on my BB Bold 9000. I have tried searching many treads regarding this issue but I haven't been able to find a cause or solution. This is what i have tried so far.

• Tried changing different ringer profiles
• Tried adjusting "advance" settings
• Tried putting pressure on the back of the speaker - to regain contacts to the speaker - as many have suggested.

These haven't worked. When I play the preloaded ringtones and I "activate handset" in options it plays very low and sounds muffled like it's playing only through the earpiece.

I love this phone but it is one of many issues I have had with this handset. My keypad and trackball also need replacing - What a lemon!

Any suggestions as to why this happened? How can I fix this? Sending it in for repair under warranty is not an option.

Did some more searching and I found a quick fix ..... very easy and it works.

- Remove battery cover
- Above the camera is the flash in a grey area with 8 rivet type screws holding it in
place.
- Press your thumb above the flash - if your volume increases - this is where the
problem lies.
- Look on top of this area and you will see a thin space between the grey part and
the mid plate.
- Take a thin object. This can be a razor, paper clip or thin piece of paper.
- Slide it in between this area and you should here your volume increase
immediately. Very little pressure is needed when sliding the object in.

I hope this helps anyone else experiencing this problem.
