Default What SIM do I ask for?

Please Login to Remove!

My carrier is mostly 3G now and I need to activate a new 8900 on voice and BIS. They will sell me a sim for 25 bucks and then I pay monthly.

What kind of SIM do I ask for? 8900 doesn't have 3G so a 2G SIM should be correct?

Thank you.

I believe in most cases now, all sims are 3G, whether the phone used supports it or not.
Because you generally have one SIM from a carrier and switch phones (as upgrades) throughout your life on that carrier.

I dont understand why you would be charged for a SIM card though.

Thanks, Midnight. They're charging me because I didn't buy the phone from them so I guess they want to get whatever they can.

I read one post somewhere by a guy who claimed his 8900 didn't work on BIS until he used a 2G SIM so I wanted to ask the guys on this forum because that worried me a bit.

Im not sure 2G only sims exist anymore.
Unless its a carrier that doesnt have/limited 3G network.

Ok thanks. Hopefully what I read was just a transition issue. Cheers.

When I had tmo, my sim broke in my stupid 8220. I went to a tmo store and they tried to charge 25 for a new sim. I didn't do it, but waited a few days till I could run to a different store where it was free. I filed a complaint with tmo, and got the store closed. The store was a franchise location, but wasn't following the rules. They went bye bye

Causing people to lose their jobs is worth $25 to you? Wow!
