I can't get it to work either. I can pair my 9000 to my computer and send/receive files using my computer software. I can also get it paired with the DM but when it syncs I eventually get a message that says, "The Desktop Manager has stopped working Windows will close the program and notify you when a solution is available."
To tell you the truth - I have been unsuccessful about every other attempt to sync my old Cure with the DM. Sometimes it works - sometimes it won't (error message.) Don't know why...
I was very surprised that there STILL is no drivers for blue tooth. When I plugged in my 9000 I thought by now they would have the driver issue solved. They didn't. Now most of the time it works without the drivers... but still. Can we please just have the drivers.
Hope you have better luck than me on this but judging from the lack of responses on most of the topics in this section -- I don't think so...
If you find anything out please post...
It looks as if RIM still has a lot of work to do with blue tooth...
I have the same problem with a Toshiba Portege R500 (Toshiba Bluetooth Stack) with Windows 7 Professional edition. I can't get the Destkop Manager to detect my Blackberry Curve 8900 with Bluetooth.
no problem syncing with the USB clable, but no luck with Bluetooth.
Tol tell you the truth even if it "saw" it - it could crash the desktop manager. There are several Blackberry Forums with this on it indicating there is trouble specifically with Windows 7 and blue tooth - coming from the desktop manager.
Mine did crash it... but to get it to "see" it I hit something like "Manage connections" (Upper right of the DM) and "added" device - which I am sure you have already done.... just keep doing it - a lot of times I had to just pound on the thing... restart the computer - you know the drill.
In the end though... sometimes you just have to wait until they update the DM.
Unless somebody has some troubleshooting I haven't heard which I would be all too happy to try.
So, right now I am just waiting for the update to the DM.
I am not sure what you mean... if you want to use the desktop mananger to sync or simply send receive files using your computer- but maybe this will help.
