Can you reply to a received mail? I can't help with the BES environment, but I had this problem on my BB (BIS) and just needed to send my service books to the BB and everything was fine.

when an outgoing email fails from a device you can open the failed message, scroll to the subject line and you will see an error listed (like 'decryption error' or 'transaction error'). Most of the time this is down to one of two elements:

1. Service books as nb_mitch says - normally a sync with desktop manager will replace these(if on BES 3.6) or in 4.0 you can send them from the BES manager. Ocassionally a corrupt service book on a device cannot be over-ridden, so I normally delete the existing servce books on a device before replacing them (Options > Service books).

2. An issue with the generation of your encryption key. Plug your BB in to Desktop Manager and generate a new key via Redirector Settings in the Security tab. In 4.0 you can do this from the BES wirelessly but I find it quicker through Desktop Manager.

I think BBAdmin is right on target with option 2 - sounds like an expired encryption key.

Your key has not generated properly, remove your service books and generate a new encryption key, then try again.

Wipe the device completely, remove yourself as a user on the BES and then start again.
