Default BES and lost email

I am having trouble getting my email synched to the 7100t off a BES

I get the emails sporadically...if my outlook is open on the desktop are you supposed to get the mail delivered to the device as well?

Also, if there are emails that do not come through to the bberry is there a way to have them resent or when I coonect the device to the PC is there a way to get them copy ot the device inbox?

TIA!!!

Make sure that your desktop manager settings are correct (i.e.-do not send when cradled is not enabled, etc).

If all settings are correct, you should receive emails to your handset if you have Outlook open, provided that you are not deleting the emails and leaving them in your Deleted Items (in Outlook).

If an email has already been delivered to your Outlook client, and it was not delivered to your handset, then you won't be able to receive it again.

Also, to help out with the first point I made, if you have access to your BES, you can look at your stats and see if any messages were filtered. If they were, then you can look on the first two tabs in desktop manager's redirector settings to fix your issue (or you can do this within BES management as well).

Thanks for your help!

I will check my filter settings. I am wondering whether I have added so many names to the body/subject lines to avoid spam delivery that I may have put in a generic term that is filtering my "good" mail as spam.

TMO suggests doing a hard reset of the phone...basically wiping the handheld clean to see if this resolves the issue...what do you think?

If you still receiving emails to your handset, even if sporadic (but current), then I would say that resetting it won't help. But it won't hurt either, so why not.

jibi

I did the hard reset and seems to be working fine. In desktop redirector should I click "reconcile email" if I have wireless email reconciliation from the BES?

To clarify...If I am experiencing no signal and while this goes on i check my outlook and receive email then I will not get it also on my phone correct?

Thanks again fro your help!

A) If you have a BES, you shouldn't be using Desktop Redirector (but you can/should use Desktop Manager for various configuration settings)

B) In that scenario, the emails will be in the Pending queue on the BES and will be delivered to your handheld when you are back within signal range (unless it reaches the server-defined expiration period).

Now, lets say that while you are out of signal range and are checking Outlook and you delete an item from your Inbox. If this deleted email remains in your Deleted Items folder for a brief period of time (usually about 5 minutes or so), then it will also delete from the handset and/or Pending queue. The BES does monitor the Deleted Items folder in addition to your Inbox.

you can re-enterprise activate but before you do that set the BES to pre-populate more data.

Most likely, it won't get everything.
