Default BIS and OWA Confusion

Please Login to Remove!

Hi Guys,

I have got a Outlook Web Access site which runs fine and works perfectly on several iPhones and a Google Nexus One.

However setting up Blackberries using Blackberry Internet Service is nigh on impossible but we do need to get it sorted.

So I have been through the email setup on the device and it gives the generic message:

"Cannot connect to email server or invalid server name. Please verify the Outlook Web Access URL. If the error persists contact enara.co.uk (your email provider)."

Do you guys have any ideas, tried everything I can think of, changing passwords etc, making sure everything is right like Mailbox Name, tried all the different login types and domain slashes. Worked first time on iPhones and Nexus One so whats the difference?

Is there something I am missing? Is the Blackberry Internet Service on by default or do I have to switch it on?

On Orange in the UK.

Thanks

George

First off, do you have a BB data plan? Must have that for BIS access.

Have you checked the FAQ?

Did you enter the correct incoming mail server? Are you trying to set up the account in BIS as POP or IMAP? User name is generally the email address.

Sorry about such slow reply.

I am going through the section that says email setup, put in username/password and then it can't find it so offers me the option of OWA so it seems liek the right area.

Have checked tha FAQs couldn't see anything that helped me.

In some versions of IE it says that the certificate is incorrect, any chance this is it?

Thanks

I had that problem with one of my corporate accounts which uses 2007. It was a block in their server.

Didn't you post a link a short while ago to the blackberry.com support page on setting up OWA?

EDIT: Take a look at View Document 0 36444642. There's another article, also. Search on "BIS Outlook Web Access".

When i have looked at that

When i get to this stage

"Note: The Mailbox name field refers to the desired mailbox name. To determine the mailbox name, log in to the Microsoft Outlook Web Access account and pause on the Inbox folder on the left top corner. On the task pane, the mailbox name should be displayed.

Example for Outlook Web Access 2003: https://<domain.name.com>/exchange/<mailboxname>/

Example for Outlook Web Access 2007: https://<domain.name.com>/owa/<mailboxname>/"

I only see this

""https//owa.rfu.com/owa/#"""

this is wrong isnt it?
