Default Enterprise Activation Issue

Please Login to Remove!

Last week when we experienced "the outage" My 9700 decided to loose its enterprise activation. I have tried all week to get reactivated. I worked with AT&T to reconnect my phone; then my companies BB support to reconnect to our BES system. Every time my company reactivates my BB EA initialize, but never gets past 0%, except once it got to 30% and stopped.

I really need some help.

Currently have 9700 on AT&T running v 5.0.0.536

When your account is reactivated, is it removed and re-added on the BES, with the BES stuff deleted from you (Outlook) email account?

One other thing you can try is to activate a totally different account on your BB - anyone that doesn't have a BB at your company or a test account. See if that works. That will rule out if it's your account or something with the BB.

I've seen something like this happen and after activating a test account on a BB that previously wouldn't activate (had to let it go to 100%) I wiped it, re-added the original user to the BES and their account activated fine.

Thanks, I was thinking I might go back to by Bold 9000, see if that would activate, then switch back to the 9700?

I had issues after activating my 9700 from having a 9000 - missed emails, calendar no longer syncing.

In the end our BES admin had to nuke my BES account and I started from scratch on the new handset - managed to keep my 3rd party apps installed ok. It's been 100% fine since then so there might be migration issues with the 9700.

OK, my company did another reset. EA started, I put the phone down for a while. when I returned I had the notification "Activation Complete". When I opened the Enterprise activation icon to check if it showed activation complete, I got the following response; "Status: Initializing service ()". If I click on the BB button, the only options are hide, cancel, etc; no activate. Everything appears to be working OK, but I'v had this status message for about 8 hrs. Is this OK?

When you say "my company did another reset" are you also wiping the device yourself? I had to do both, but left 3rd party apps alone, before my 9700 became stable. It meant losing my settings but it was worth it in the end. I'm also running the latest OS which was released a few days ago.

Yes, I did a backup, wiped the device. After I got the activation complete and waited a day. I turned the unit off, pulled battery left it out for about 10 min and reinserted. When it came up I checked EA, it showed Activation complete and the date it occurred. Everything seems OK now. Thanks for your comments.

I have a similar problem, I have just changed over our CEO from a bold 9000 to a bold 9700 and intermittantly the emails stop flowing through. It works alright as a phone (calls and SMS) and also he can use the internet.

I checked the BES and there are no data packets waiting to go to the device so I think that it's a problem with Exchange talking to the BES.

So far I have deleted him off the BES and recreated him, this worked for about 24 hours and now it's not receiving emails anymore and I also nuked the device and started again but still the BES can't speak to Exchange??

My job could be on the line here because it's the CEO, any idea's would be great!!

I learned as a new user at AT&T that to connect to a external BES server you have to have a Corporate Blackberry Plan, not the Personal Blackberry Plan. Once they made this change to my account, I had no problem connecting to my 3rd party Exchange/BES provider, Link2Exchange.com.
