Hi everyone,
If this is a completely amateur-type question, then sorry for wasting your time with such an obvious answer
I'm planning to buy a Curve 8520 with a contract that includes the following:

Price plan Pay monthly £15 (24 months) Cost £15.00
Free extras Inclusive Flexible Unlimited Text Booster
More extras BlackBerry Email Booster

I've heard loads of people say that Blackberry Messenger and applications like Twitter/Facebook aren't working on their Blackberry because they don't have a data plan (or push email).
I'm pretty sure that the BlackBerry Email Booster is the push email (correct me if I'm wrong!), but I'm not sure whether there's a data plan or not. I don't want to end up with loads of utilities that won't function!

Yes, you NEED the Blackberry email booster to get internet to WORK on a blackberry.
You then need an Internet booster / unlimited internet included in the plan.

Okay thanks, so everything will work fine? I can get the Unlimited Internet, simple - would like to know why itxxx8217;s necessary though. Thanks!

Data has to go thru rim for it to work. PIN etc goes thru rim, the browser too. Without it any RIM services would fail

Because T-mobile UK are basically idiots.
They decided to split up their handling of data.
So unlike O2, orange etc, who offer a bolt-on/booster/plan that is "for blackberry and includes everything"; t-mobile UK decided, You pay £5 for Blackberry booster which is REQUIRED; but we'll hide the fact you'll need our web n' walk/internet to actually go on the internet.

Blackberry booster does 2 things: 1) makes internet work on a BB, an 2) has a 50MB fair use policy that pertains ONLY to data for recieivng EMAIL.
The unlimited internet/web n walk does 1 thing: Give you 1GB of fair use data to use on browing the web, and data for apps (FB, google maps, etc).

Without the booster internet won't work; and without internet only email will work.

Hope it works out for you.
I had to call them up on the first day (3 different people before getting it sorted) because they hadn't activated the BB booster correctly.
