Hello all,
I need a little help with some apps that I want to download. I am in Iraq so I wont be able to download apps OTA due to no service where Im at, plus my 8900 is not unlocked (yet). I will be returning to the states in about 10 days or so so I can download OTA then. My question is this, can I download via my USB connection from my computer? I sent the apps to my email that I use on my BB but if I can download them now vis the USB instead of waiting that would be great. I checked the search option but didnt find anything to close to my problem. I do have the data plan in force, I know that is required. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I'm understanding your post correctly, the answer is it depends. Most of the apps are in a format (jar or jad) designed to be downloaded and installed OTA. The only ones you can download to your pc and then later on install the onto your device will be in alx format.

So it'll ultimately depend on what versions of the app the developer has made them available in.

Thank you Trimix, it's a little clearer now. Sounds like my best option is to wait a few days till I return to the states and just do it OTA. Thanks again.
