I'm facing problem with my Bold 9700..

when some people call me the device not ringing or showing receive call... when they hang up it shows missed call...
device came with OS 5.0.0.321 Platform 5.1.0.90.. i upgraded the device to OS 5.0.0.645 Platform: 5.1.0.112 it was stable for 24 hours then the same problem came up again ...

i removed the assigned tones for those contacts but it's still not showing that they are calling...

i deleted those people from the contact list and re-add them again with & without assign tones but still the same....


any idea?

We're having the same issue with some of our 9700 devices from Vodafone, OS v5.0.0.344.

The device won't ring (no ringtone, no pop-up saying "john calling" or whatever) but you get comms-arrows in top-right and when the caller hangs up (or when it goes to voicemail) you get the "1 missed call" pop-up.

I've been doing a lot of testing with this, the issue seems to be related to contacts. If you delete the contact of the calling person and they call again then it rings OK. Add the contact back and it stops ringing. But it's really inconsistent. I've been able to reproduce it by deleting all contacts in outlook then letting them propagate out again, and ensuring two contacts have the same number.

I've been seeing some really strange behaviour today. My 9700 will ring a few times AFTER the caller hangs up then the "1 missed call" pop-up comes on and the device hangs for a few seconds and it's then very sluggish for a minute or so.

I have a Bold 9700 with ATT.

I had this problem and tried every GUESS (see if this works) that has ever been posted on each and every site, even by the "experts."

I have finally found what was causing MY phone not to ring.

I had one person listed in my phone only by their first initial. Whenever that person called, the phone would not ring, yet you could visibly see the activity arrows on the screen that a call was coming in.

Any call that came in after that person called would not ring either.

Obviously this is a bug in the OS, and no I'm not going to say what OS it was because that NEVER solved the problem.

So, if you have anyone listed in your phone with only one letter or perhaps one letter or number followed by a space, you might want to change that entry.

my problem was solved in different way!

the OS is 100% ok... no problem... the bug with the theme i purchased

then i use the default theme it's working perfect but with i use the purchased theme i'm still facing same problem
