Hi everyone, I'm pretty new here and just may switch to BlackBerry. My mother is currently on a plan with T-Mobile not sure what it's called but it's the one where you get the phones for high price and the contracts are really cheap.
Anyhow, she is switching phones and was planning on selling her BlackBerry but instead I think she may let me have it and come onto T-Mobile with her. I'm pretty sure she has a BlackBerry Curve 8520that's the one it looks like, with the square mouse track pad thing.
Just am curious though if this can be jailbroken similar to how the ipod touch can be jailbroken?
It cannot be "jailbroken", however, if you're looking to user it on another GSM network, it can be unlocked.
Your profile lists Verizon, a T-Mobile device will not work with Verizon due to them being different technologies. If you plan on using a T-Mobile device on AT&T, then unlocking it will work.

Well no, I don't want to use it on another carrier that's not the issue. I haven't yet changed my carrier on here from Verizon to T-Mobile because I'm still on Verizon not on T-Mobile yet.
I guess what I meant by jailbreaking it is for getting apps free, customization of the phone and all other sorts of stuff that comes along with jailbreaking as well. Although if that can't be done it's not that big of a deal to me really, was just curious if it's possible.

The awesome thing about Blackberries is that you don't need to "jailbreak" it to do ANYTHING. You can do EVERYTHING you want with a blackberry without "jailbreaking" it.
