Hello,
About to install BES 4.0 On Win2003 Server. I run Exchange 2000 on a W2K Server. In the install guide, I can't find this scenerio. Can BES be installed in this enviornment? In the "preparing for environment" section it tells me to install 2003 messaging server & 2003 system mgr, but nothing about 2000 Exchange. Any help would be appreciated.

I've got one BES machine in the configuration you want to deploy and no problems. Specifically, my machine is Win2003 Standard edition w/o SP1 yet. BES4.0 is at SP1.

I haven't had any issues with the installation, stability, etc.

I also contacted RIM when BES4.0 SP1 came out, as I recall the documentation indicating it required Win2003 SP1. RIM TSupport told me it did not require Win2003SP1.

I have 3 BES running on W2K3-SP1, 2 of which are supporting Ex5.5 and the third supporting Ex2K environments. There isn't alot of info going around about this, but it does indeed work. Since you're running W2K3, you need to install the Exchange 2003 ESM. What is critical is that there are 3 DLLs that need to be at a particular version:

MAPI32.DLL - 6.5.7266.0

CDO.DLL - 6.5.7266.0

EMSMDB32.DLL - 6.5.7266.0

Install the 2003 ESM <Custom Install - ESM ONLY> before you install your BES and you should be fine.
