Exclamation Screen Does Not Turn Off When In Case

Please Login to Remove!

I have an unlocked Storm 2 and it does not turn off the screen when I put it into the case, any idea how can I fix this? Is it a config I'm missing? Thanks. c

Wirelessly posted

Perhaps something is touching? As an experiment, try enabling password and seeting the blackberry to lock when holstered.

Which case are you using? I've had the magnet that triggers the BB sensor come loose inside the case once on me. A new case fixed the problem.

Thanks, it seems that the problem is the magnet that is almost on bottom, I made a trial with the bottom part of case in the middle of the screen and it worked, so I think a new case will be the solution, thanks.

I tried with other cases and the same, it does not turn off, can it be a problem with the equipment?

It could be. The cases need to be made for the blackberry in order to have the magnet in the correct location too. I've always had trouble with Verizon pushing cases that fit the phone, but don't put it to sleep.

So it's probably that the case it's not designed for 9550 and due to this, the magnet it's not in the correct location for the model, isn't it? Unfortunately we do not have cases specially designed for 9550 yet. Thanks.

That could be it. You can use a paperclip or other small piece of metal to see if you can find the magnets in the case. A real BB Storm case should have two magnets, one on each side, inside it about half way down.

Oh didn't know, actually mine one only has one magnet in one side and it's almost on the bottom. The strange thing is that I've tried with other BB and it worked....

i had to add a magnet to my case. The sensor location is dead center of the screen. Oddly, a couple times when I put the phone in my case with the back on the outside, the magnet actually drained my battery in a matter of hours so I ended up taking it out. Not sure what that was about. I couldn't find a case that was designed for the Storm 2 specifically.
