same thing with me the current arabic font does not type very well, so how can we change the arabic font.

you don't need to download this file, if your BB is updated to v.5

go to options -> language & text input -> input language "select" xxx1575;xxx1604;xxx1593;xxx1585;xxx1576;xxx1610;xxx1607; then save.

for your information it works for sms & instant mesaging, but if you want to write in english you've to do the steps again to convert the keyboard to english there isn't any short cut for it.

i would think that an OS for the storm 9500 is available in arabic language from most telephone carriers in the middle east. i wonder why RIM didnt include it in all of their storm OS's ?

Arabic language for storm. i dont if its the same file as above or not but this one is working.

I can't guarantee this won't render your device useless since I've never installed this.

However, if you want to install it simply download it and then unzip it to a folder. Then open application loader and browse to the .alx file that unzips (don't use the macosx folder). Then finish the application loader process.

why would this fix kill the device? could explain?
