Default Uma

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

I use Orange UK as my cell provider which supports uma, my issue is that my bold 9700 does not seem to use it, connection status tells me I am connected via wifi and where I use my bb in work there is no orange signal but I can use the wifi to collect emails etc but not to make calls.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks in advance

Do you have the UMA icon on the homescreen?

Is the blackberry a Orange Branded BB, or was it SIM free/another networks?

Only Orange branded BB 9700 will have UMA.

It's an unbranded sim free handset,

Is there anyway to get uma working on an unbranded handset

nope, its just not part of the firmware. (and not part of the OS software).

Because relatively few networks operate UMA (3 that I know of, Orange UK Rogers, Canada, and T-mobile US) RIM only enable UMA on handsets made for those networks.

Also a UMA handset from one UMA enabled network will not work on another UMA enabled network.
