Default Contact issue with BB 9530

Please Login to Remove!

I have one user that is having an issue with the contacts on his device. The contacts are not updating on the device when he makes changes in outlook.

Device model = 9530
OS = 5.0.0.328
BES OS = 5.0.1

He is the only one that is having the issue. I have checked all settings and they are bidirectional for sync'ing. The one thing I do know is that the user has 1151 contacts in his outlook account. Could it be that the 9530 has an issue snyc'ing that amount of contacts?

In outlook Make a new folder for contacts called backup

move all contacts to the backup folder and wait for all to be removed from device

then pull battery on device and put back in

After device boots move contacts from backup to the contacts folder and wait for them all to appear

Make a new contact in outlook and see if it gets to the device.

Another thing that came to mind is deleting ( from the device) the Desktop SYNC service book, then resending it from BES...1151 is a lot ( enterprise activation must have been fun ) but it seems like I have a user here or there with more than that and they can sync ok

I did the deleting of the Desktop SYNC service book and resending it and it failed after so many contacts were sync'd.

I than did what knottyrope said and that worked for the end user. I have seen that users with larger amounts of contacts have issues applying the service book without errors.

most likely you had a corrupt contact or one with an attribute that BES did not like.

Moving them to a diff folder clears it, but the ones on the device must be removed before putting them back I have found. The reboot of device frees up memory so the device can receive the contacts back.

Odd fix, but it has helped many. Glad it worked for you.
