I might have bricked my phone.

My second BB is a 8110 running 4.3 OS, and using the Desktop Manager I tried updating it to 4.5...180 (the one suggested), during the install, the download started and it was running quite good but there was some problem when it reached module 433 of 492 and it hasn't advanced for over an hour. (module 433 says "download device software")

I am afraid I might have bricked my phone in the process as the screen is showing an icon with the number 507. What can I do?? Is there a way to solve this??

Hopefully the backup that was taken at the beginning of the upgrade is good.

Start here - How do I wipe the BlackBerry using Jl Cmder? - BlackBerryFAQ - to wipe out the BB totally.

Then reload the OS and restore the data (it is in an IPD file on your PC).

Thanks for the reply. I have already used JlCmder and it has theoretically whipped clean my 8110, but when using the Loader (C:/Program Files/Common Files/Research in Motion/AppLoader/Loader.exe) it is showing me a "total empty space for applications: 0K" and all options are gray, and not allowing me to continue.

What is happening? Why is this? Help please.

See if you can find vendor.XML on your PC C: drive and delete it. Make sure thatbyiu have the latest 8110 OS installed on your PC.
