Default Media Card

Please Login to Remove!

My BB 9700came with a Scandisk 2Gb media disk which I have taken out and re-inserted. I have gone to "Options" - Memory- turned on media card support and mass storage mode and auto enable when connected.
However at the foot of that page it displays "A media card is not presently inserted in the device". What am I doing wrong? My PC does not recognise there being a media card in the BB either.

If it worked before you took it out, you probably did not insert probably. If you did insert properly, go to media options and see for option to format or repair card

The trouble is I can't go to media options and format it from phone as the phone deoes not evn recognise the card is there in the first place. However, (after backing up all the photos on the card to my PC from a card reader with no difficulty) I formatted the card on my PC (using FAT) and re-inserted the card again into the phone and the phone still does not recognise the card is even in there.

Do you have another card you can try? Even borrowing someone else's item? Have you done a battery pull with the card inside yet?

I have tried several battery pulls without any effect. I will try to borrow someone else's card if possible but I don't think the card is the problem as I can read from it and write to it with no problem from the PC via a card reader

I just replaced my SD card, and when I did, I got the same problem. Double-check to make sure you pushed it in far enough. It should kind of "click" in place. If it slides right out, it's not in far enough. It should be difficult to pull out if it's in all the way.

that's the first thing i tell anyone who has media card issues.

it may look like its in, but there's like a outer part where the card seems to have locked in place but it really isn't.
