You need call your mobile carrier and subscribe to the Enterprise BlackBerry Data Plan.
A BIS data plan won't work.

This question makes no sense.

If you want to use a hosted BES, then you need a BES data plan.
It's as simple as that.

Haha sorry, im a bit slow.
But what i do not get is:

If i want BES from my mobile carrier, for 1 user/license, it kosts about 5.000 USD for "installation etc, hardware excluded"

On top of that, i have to pay 40 USD per month for the service.

So what you mean, is that on top of all this i also have to have a hosted service (combined exchange and BB) for another 50 USD/month,

So a total of approx 5.000 USD onetime fee and 90 USD/month for be able to sync over the air and encryption?

I have no idea what things cost from your mobile carrier and what you are paying to your hosted provider(s).

What I'm saying is pretty straightforward.
If you want to activate your device on a BES, you need a BES data plan provisioned by your mobile carrier.

Thx for your Patience penguin, just got it fixed now. I had to qoute what you said to me, when i called my carriers customer service (but i changed "penguin" to "my kolleague") and finally someone there realized i could have only the dataplan, because it wasnt logical to pay a start-fee for software installation etc, when i already have a server ready to go, to send the data trough.

So again, thx
