Default GWSoapConnector

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,
I am getting these errors in the application log in eventvwr. It seems that some users get their email fine while others can only send mail but not receive. Its happening about 10/50 users. I have fixed several users by doing several different things and I do not know which one actually fixes it.

1. First popping the battery out
2. Resending Service Books
3. Purging pending data packets
4. Resending IT Policy

Those have worked once, then I tried connecting it to Desktop Manager and shortly after the email starts coming in. That has worked several times but I have users that I dont have data cables for (mini USB) and an older model that doesnt work after all my troubleshooting attempts. It seems I am getting GWSoapConnector errors everytime a few people attempt to get email I am assuming. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I cant get several user back up and running again.

Are all of these users on the same post office? Are some of the working users on the same post office as other users that are not working?

Some BlackBerry smartphone users stop receiving email messages on their BlackBerry smartphones due to too many events queued by the Novell GroupWise SOAP connector.
The Novell GroupWise SOAP connector(GWSC) log will contain many entries similar to the following:
[34495] (04/02 17:23:21):{0x8E8} {0} {Test User} SC_EVENTS_GETMORE
[34489] (04/02 17:23:21):{0x8E8} {0} {Test User} SC_RIM_BES_P1 Events: Queued=0, Preprocessed=0, Overlap=256

Do you see anything like that?

Default Post office

We have 6 post offices mxg, a, b, c, d, r. The most of the problems are coming from A and B post offices. I believe I have fixed a total of 6 users, 4 on A and 2 on B. My IT shop resides in G and we have had like one issue but generally no problems, most users in the affected post offices are getting the emails, just some arent. I am trying to retreive the logs from the GW admin now... I see those errors on the BES server.

Those logs posted above are BES logs, not GW logs.

Take a look at this KB View Document

I believe I have figured out the issue, I think it is a firewall permission disallowing a certain IP address to go thru SOAP.

Please advise if this was in fact the resolution.

Please update in detail the changes as this will end up being another stagnent thread with no resolution or closure.

Thanks.

Default Solution

This was the solution, by allowing the IP through the firewall on the POA, it allowed the users to receive their email.
