so i got this black berry bold from my friend but he now lives in australia and i have the phone now and its bell and i would just like to know if i can switch it from bell to rogers kind of like "unlock" the phone?
If it is possible, how would it be done?
pls help me guys.

Yes you can unlock a phone.
You contact an unlocking company like Horizon Wireless.

Also, if its a Bell Bold, its an 9700 series device, not a 9000 series device.

Please update your profile to indicate the proper model number, not name. There are different models called "Bold" and they are very different.

AT&T would not unlock my bold 9000 due to "contractual agreements". I used unlocktotalk.com and received the unlock code within a couple of hours for $10. My phone is now unlocked. Easy and cheap!
