Default Work/Mobile # Choice In Contacts...How Do I Change?

Please Login to Remove!

I just got another BB 9700 after ditching the iPhone again...and I remembeer why I loved BB...the sheer simplicity. Except for one thing...

When I try to dial a number from my contact list, instead of simply dialing out like I have been used to...now a screen pops up giving me a choice of a work or mobile number, which in 99% of the cases is the same. It's not a huge deal...but an annoyance.

How can I set it back so that pop up doesn't come up?

If its the same, then you don't need that number listed in the contact twice (once under mobile, once under work) and therefore removing it wil remove the pop-up.
As far as I know, you can't remove that popup because it needs to know which number you actually want to dial

Yeah, there is no option for "default to this number if there are multiple numbers for a contact."

Sorry.

Yeah, don't know how or why...but in transfering my contacts from my iPhone 4 to this 9700, every contact shows the same number for "work" and "mobile" phones!

I guess I either have to manually delete one number per contact (ugh!) to keep the pop up from showing...or just live with it, and have one more click-per-call. Bummer...

Looks like I'll be busy awhile! Haha!

I feel your pain. I think when I ported over my contact list from my previous Blackberry every number showed up under "work". Hopefully you don't have a ton of entries to deal with.
