1. Install the OS6 release you are going to OR ALREADY HAVE installed on your phone.

2.Download the OS5 Ringtones file

3. Copy net_rim_bb_medialoader_ringtones_480x360_03_b.cod to the Java folder of the OS6 release.

4. Connect your phone to the PC and run apploader to load OS 6 on your phone

The ringtone file will now be copied to your phone and you will have access to OS5 ringtones.



You can also achieve the same thing by using BBSAK 1.9 to copy net_rim_bb_medialoader_ringtones_480x360_03_b.cod to your phone.

Hmm I never used the OS6 ringers but this is pretty cool.

Problem is, that the OS5 ringtone package referred to here, has a very low gain embedded into the ringtones. Even at level 10 on my devices, they are much lower than they were in OS5 on my 9700. They need to be run through something like MP3 gain or some other gain enhancing software to bring back the original gain levels.

hmm... I copied the files into 9780 java files and ran the apploader/Loader and says " No action required"
I wonder why its not copying.

This link has the OS5 ring tones in .mp3 version. Just add the files you like to your memory card and save internal memory space.
