Hello. My friend is a trash collector, and he found a Blackberry Pearl in the trash. He kept it to see if it works. It turns on but does not load past the loading screen.

I am an Android root user/hacker, but I know nothing about Blackberry, so I wanted to get some information to see if there was some kind of hack or work around for this.

I do not physically have the phone right now, my friend just called me and told me about it, and asked me to see what I can dig up on this.

Anything would be helpful (links, root/hack programs, etc). Honestly, I don't even know what operating system the BB runs on or if there are work arounds on this. Thanks in advance!

Its runs Blackberry OS and cannot be "hacked" or "rooted".
It can be wiped, and a reinstall of the OS tried.
