Hello all, iam new here and new to bb's so limited knowledge on them,
The problem is this...today my baby was fast asleep so i silenced the phone.....the next thing i knew the babys dad calls....and his number by passed the silent mode and the phone rang..very loud..!..woke the baby who screamed for half an hour at which point i wanted to throw the phone out of a window..!!

I used to use silent all the time when i didnt want to be disturbed...NO ONES calls used to get through...now HIS does..???? how can this be.?
Has someone changed this do u think coz he has a bb so knows about them i dont..? and if this is the case how do i set it back to silent for ALL calls...any help iam very grateful for ..thanks.

Go into the Sound Profiles and check the "Phone" settings. Make sure that it is still on Silent.

Also, make sure that any Contact Alerts you might have set up (individual ringtones for a contact) are set to "Active Profile" in the volume settings.

Thanks i will look now, it says silent..? and it says no contact alerts..? could he have set something up, coz he hates me not answering him straight away..so seems odd that his calls get through and no one elses does.?

do you have him as a contact? if so check there to see if there is a certain ringer profile for him. if so delete that ringer profile and you should be good

Go to the Profiles, scroll to Edit Profiles, go to the Silent profile, go to Phone, and see what the setting is.

And as noted above, check to see if you have a ringtone set for that contact.

And there's no way that someone else can set a sound profile on your device without having it in their physical presence.
