Default Ever Recurrent Email Message(s)

Please Login to Remove!

For the past 3 weeks or so I keep getting an old email or two showing up in my personal email folder, and the email does not show up in my regular, desktop version of my email. Whether I delete or just leave it, almost daily it pops right back in as if it was a new email.

Oh, what to do?

Anyone?

Try accessing Email Account Manager inside the Options menu option from your messages app. Ensure your email account(s) are setup and active. I'm assuming this is BIS.

If it's BES, you may have to contact your BES administrator.

Oh yeah, if you haven't already done so - try a battery pull first.

Good luck.

There have been issues like this for some users with some email services where old email is delivered to the handset again, even after it has been deleted. I've read of it happening with messages from long in the past. It has happened to me once or twice.

I don't have a satisfying answer to explain it or to prevent it. If you can tolerate it for a little while, continue deleting the email on the handset and see if it goes away.

And, check your message settings on the handset and make sure it is set to delete on the BlackBerry and on the server. I always have mine set to server (or maybe it is inbox) wins on conflicts. If that is the way you have it, you may want to try setting it to handset wins for a while.

Hahaha, the same message keeps getting bounced back into my inbox without me even deleting or reading it, as if maybe some thing is demanding that I re-read it (from 2 years ago!) as if I keep missing something in it.

This happened to me a couple weeks ago. I'm on BES with a Torch, but the emails were from my personal yahoo.com mail box. Several hundred messages started showing up all at once over the course of about 15 minutes. The messages were from January through March of 2010.

Yeah, I'm on BIS, and it is a yahoo email account that I'm receiving this. But it doesn't show up when I'm on my pc in my yahoo mail though.

Did you retry deactivating and reactivating the email account on your blackberry?

I may try to do that at some point, but I don't want to lose all the months of messages I have -- so its not like I'm about to shoot someone, I can live with it. Its kind of funny too Thanks for the tip!

Oh, but there is another thing that I keep forgetting to bring up.

Once or twice a day I'll receive a completely blank email showing up in my inbox when I receive a real email. No sender, completely blank. Just in my BB yahoo inbox, not in my pc yahoo unbox. Not with every email, just on average once or maybe twice a day. And as it shows up in my inbox, always as if it was received prior to a real email.

Neither of these quirks happened before on my 9000 -- was sort of wondering if it was a 9800 or OS 6 issue at first, hence why I took it up in this forum...Sounds like it might be something else?
