We have been running this for one and a half years. I have a hot spare but am using SQL2005 as i only have 140 users. I want to go to SP2 and the probably MR5 which is the most recent. Can i go directly from 5.0 to SP2. Is MR5 cumulative or do I have to do them in sequence. Would it make sense to migrate from SQL2005 to a SQL server for 140 users. It will give me a hot spare. I have not upgraded recently because everything is working so well and with so many people spread over country and now Asia and Europe my window is narrow until late June (things slow down over summer). I can then do a 2 hour or better upgrade at that time.
I do back up the database every week.

why not go to sp3? you can upgrade straight to sp3 and then apply mr1 for sp3?
