Question Bypass Router Configuration

Please Login to Remove!

I just noticed there is a section for "Bypass Router Configuration" in the BlackBerry Router Configuration tab of the BlackBerry Handheld Manager Properties Window.

Can this be used to define an alternate Internet connection, perhaps so that you can connect to the Internet through the USB cable?

What do you usually put here?

Does it require a BES?

Thanks,

Jon

This is for using the router directly for a BlackBerry connected to a PC. Then it will not go wireless. It is also called least cost routing.
The router is then installed on a seperated machine, only for BES 4.x (and up).

Cool.

Do you have anymore technical details? I'm guessing this is done with service books?

By router, do you mean it's a software router as opposed to a physical device?

Is there anyway to do least cost routing without a BES?

Jon

In the installation guide of the BES 4.x you can read how to install a router remote. In the Feature guide there you can find something about the router and the bypass. If you have no BES, you don't have a router. It work only with a BES.
