I have a bb bold 9000 and the gps isn't working in the option it gave me in the location 0's and i have tried downloading google maps but every time i tried to inter the site m.google.maps it gave me"the xml is not well formed" so what should i do.

On the GPS issue, you'll need to have the BlackBerry in a spot where it has a clear "view" of the sky, at least to begin with. Open options > advanced options > gps, and then select 'Refresh GPS' from the menu. The first time may take a long while. Let it complete.

Later you can experiment and you probably will find the BlackBerry can locate you even indoors if you are near a window. But to give the BlackBerry every chance of locating you when troubleshooting, have the BlackBerry outdoors with unobstructed view of the sky.

On the google issue, it probably is a different problem. After you solve the GPS issue and the BlackBerry is getting a location fix, try again. If you are having trouble still, do a hard reset and try again.

A hard reset is performed by removing the BlackBerry battery while the BlackBerry power is on, and waiting at least 30 seconds before replacing the battery.

First of all, do you have a BB data plan? You need that for maps to work.

For GPS to work, you ned to go into the setup menu for GPS and make sure youhave "Location Services" set to on. I believe it might be here, but do not recall. Options > Advanced > GPS Been a while since I used a 9000.

Next, to get GPS to lock on, if it isn't blocked by your carrier, you must be outside with a clear view of the sky. It might take 20 to 30 minutes to lock on,

and by the way the bb data plane is for what and how much does it cost

In addition, many third-party apps require the BlackBerry data plan.

Note, however, unless your carrier is blocking the GPS on the BlackBerry, you should be able to get a latitude and longitude position fix as observable in options > advanced > GPS.

But you will need the BlackBerry data plan to use use BlackBerry Maps and BlackBerry Traffic, and possibly other mapping and navigation apps as well.
