Default Wow What A Case - Finally this is the one!

Please Login to Remove!

I was shopping around looking for the perfect case for the perfect handheld.

It was just announced this week and any pre-orders placed before February 13th qualify for a 20% discount.

http://www.senacases.com/cart/home.php?cat=387

Piel Frama will be releasing their version by the end of February.

Forget about snaps and silly Chinese cardboard-like leather.....

Looks like you guys already knew this. Call me a knob.

It's quite the case though.

Too bad it needs to be ordered from California.

The Piel Frama cases are great too but aren't yet ready for the 8700.

I don't think the case is "all that."

Sure it's nice. But what about it makes you think it's so much better then the 8700c offerings by Vaja, Tuff-As-Nuts, Krusell, Bellagio or Fortte?

These are all high-end case makers.

I actually had a Vaja for my RAZR. The stitching breaks apart if the phone gets wet. The RAZR now resides in the Piel Frama.

The flap on the Fortte case is far too big.

Krusell cases look too much like glass cases. Why would I want to lay my PDA or 8700 on its' side.

In fact, most everyone who makes a completely enclosed case use clasps or snaps to keep the top down. The Sena case uses magnets which are quite nice.

Agreeably using a flapped cover isn't the best thing to do when talking on the Blackberry but I don't use mine for that.

I'm not sure the case is meant to get wet so I don't think it's fair to hold that against it.

Flap on which case? The flap on the Fortte flip style case is no bigger than the Sena. It just has the additional piece for closure.

I assume you're referring to the Krusell horizontal case? That's not comparing apples to apples. The Sena is a flip case. Look at the Krusell Handit.

http://www.krusell.se/product.php?pr...13&category=16

It's a flip style just like the Sena, Vaja and Fortte.

Agreed. The magnectic closure method of the Sena case is different. It's pretty cool. However, I don't think it's fair to say it's the case to end all other cases. All the above mentioned cases reside on the same plain. It's a matter of personal preference as to which one works best for the individual.

The minute I saw the magnetic clasp on the Sena model, I was hooked. I'm not a fan of the extra flap.

Mind you, haven't actually seen one up close I can't say how good it will be.

At the end of the day, I want a case that will envelop and enclose my 8700.

I'm not a fan of the removal type as continual removal will eventually and inevitably scratch or mar the unit. That was the case with one I had for my other Blackberry and my other phones.

For me Sena might have the right answer.

Once they ship and I get mine, we'll see how well it actually works.

I also purchased the Sena case with the 20% preorder discount. 3 years ago I ordered a Vaja and a Sena for my pda. I thought the Sena and Vaja were very close to the same. I might give a slight edge to the Vaja in leather quality but for the difference in Cost I returned the Vaja and kept the Sena case. After 3 years the Sena case has some scratches and marks but still looks great and works very well. I too will take pictures and post as soon as it and my new BB 8700C arrive. Should be sometime in the next 10 days.

I'd really like to get the Sena case, but I'd like to be able to get it without a clip tab on the case... i.e. I'd like to be able to carry this in my pocket and not clipped onto my belt...

Also, I wonder how smart it is to carry credit cards in this case around all those magnets

It can come with no clip if you so request. As for the magnets, I have wondered about it myself...

I would never put a CC in my case. I am sure the magnets would kill it. The most I have ever used the slots for are a few business cards maybe a couple bucks for snacks or something when I go to a meeting but usually they remain empty. If I could get it without the slots and make things a little thinner I probably would (like the VAJA) however I am not willing to pay the premium for this!!!!

I pre- ordered my sena case 3 weeks ago. They must not be shipping yet, as I still don't have any shipping info. I think that they advertised for "business cards", not credit cards - as the magnets would ruin any credit cards. I'm looking forward to the "sleep" magnet also being included- and saving me battery life compared to carrying it bare...

I'll call them up directly to confirm, but I'm saying I don't want the clip-tab (that the clip hooks on to) on the case, to make it really low-profile. When it's in my pocket, I don't want to feel that little piece of circular plastic sticking into my leg.

I would call or email to see if you can order it without. They are very good about answering emails. I know that they offer alot of their other cases with or without the built in tab. Let us know what you find out. J...

Cases made by Vaja look very, very neat. Their website is super slick too..all the color choices and customizations...think I found my guys!

Thanks for mentioning, Igreenberg.

I was asking another question about my pre-ordered Sena case and the rep said that it shipped out today. Since they come from CA I am sure that it will be next week before I receive it. I will post pictures when it arrives. Those of you that are closer to the west coast will probably receive yours sooner. Please post pictures so I can see what I am going to receive...

I emailed Sena support to see if I could get an 8700c case WITHOUT a tab... the answer is no, and here is the exact email I received:

So, I guess I'll wait until the rest of you start receiving your cases... let me know how low-profile they are, and if they are comfortable to carry in your pocket when the clip is not attached...
