Default Just bought 7105T, Do I need T-Zone or else?

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I've just switched from Cingular to T-Mobile today. I bought the Blackberry 7105T because all I want is my business emails. I asked the sales person and he said that all I need is $9.99 plan of T-Zone and that's it. I've never had a Blackberry before. I don't know what T-Zone is.

After I got home, I called T-mobile customer care to ask them to explain between T-Zone and Internet Email Plan. They say if I have a Blackberry, T-Zone will not do any good. I need $19.99 plan. So now I'm confused.

Is it true? Why is that though? If I get the T-Zone on my Blackberry, what will happen? Will I get emails slower than the other plan?

I'm sorry if this topic seems to be redundant. But when I did search, I couldn't find any answer.

Thank you in advance.

A T-Zones plan is useless on a Blackberry. It won't work at all.

You need a BLACKBERRY DATA PLAN if you are using a Blackberry device.

Don't worry - the $19 is worth it. Will give you web browsing too. There isn't any way around it except to eBay the phone.

Thinking that you can use the BB without a BB plan is an extremely popular misconception.

Thank you all. I guess I have to get the 19.99 plan. Hopefully the service is great. I read online and they say connecting to T-Zone is very slow too.

Well the BlackBerry won't be connecting to T-Zones; it's just going to go online with GPRS. Granted; GPRS is rather slow and the 7105 doesn't exactly help to much seeing it in itself isn't that quick. Great phone; but it won't be replacing your broadband internet connection.

If you want/need something really quick (well for U.S. wireless this is rather quick) you would want EDGE or EVDO service and a compatable phone; such as the 8700.

As for the service itself, I find it to be quite nice. It works most everywhere here in Los Angeles and it's cheap. 19.99 is really cheap for an unlimited blackberry plan; other companys can charge in the range of 49.99 a month for unlimited access.

If I get a RAZR and T-ZONE, I still can check my email, can't I? WHat's difference between using Blackberry and Razr checking email? Checking pop 3 email thru T-Zone is slower?

The difference is: blackberry works only with blackberry data plans. Trust us, we know.
