I was looking at nextel blackberries tonight and for kicks I priced one out. the price for the phone with an upgrade has gone up but the unlimited email service has dropped to 34.95 and no this wasn't the 5mb plan. It listed both plans next to each other. Anybody know anything about this?

don't know. It look's like a mistake, if you just look at the plans by themselves, its still 49.99. But you are correct, if you order a new blackberry and choose either the unlimited or smaller data plan, it's $34.99. maybe they are in the process of a price drop. Let's hope so.

just to let you know, i just got my blackberry, and got the unlimited plan for $34.99. my dealer told me it is for a limited time only, so if your gonna get one, or your thinking about it but dont wanta pay 49.99. GET IT NOW...

There is a current promo that drops the price of the unlimited data plan to $39.99 for the life of the contract (if you renew your contract for another 2 years with voice on your account). I just purchased a 7100i yesterday and was placed on this promo plan.

The $39.99 unlimited promo does not include an additonal $5.00 price reduction for voice services added. I just checked my pricing guide.

Correct. Data only is $49.99 - $39.99 with voice plan. It used to be $49.99 for unlimited with a $5.00 discount with voice plan.

i contacted nextel and its for new customers only and its only a promo. i got my bb back in sept 2005 and it started on 1-1-06 to 3-31-06. so im s.o.l...

oh well...
