Default BES Admin Account moved to user group

Please Login to Remove!

So I made a terrible mistake and moved all users, including the administrator account, to a user group under Manage Users. Now I can't login. Not sure where to start.

Don't suppose you created an internal BlackBerry Administration Service account when you installed the first BAS?

palthainon,

I do not know if this is supported but I have just tested it in the lab and it worked ok for me. you may want to take further advice from others before proceeding with this as it may have wider affects which I have not tested. I take no responsibility for this trashing your BES environment.

The Lab is BES 5.0.3 MR7 with SQL 2008 R2.

If you choose to proceed you should definitely schedule to take your BES Service offline and backup the database before trying this.

You will need to be able to access and edit the BES configuration database so hopefully you have an account you can use with the required level of SQL rights.

You can open the dbo.BASUsers table in the database and locate (under the DisplayName column) your BESAdmin account, or might be best to maybe select another account if you have one, your own possibly.

Note the UserId for that account.

Now EDIT the dbo.BASUserRoles table and locate the UserID in the left hand column and amend the corresponding RoleID number in the right hand column to number 1 (I believe this is the RoleId for the Security Admin Role)

This should then at least let you login with that account and undo whatever change you made earlier.
