Exclamation 7520 Freezing

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All:
I have a Nextel 7520 BB with v4.1.0.273
I am not on BES.

When I go to delete my old messages or when I am sending messages it will just freeze sometimes. Hard reboot and its back to normal again, until it happens again.

I use Rambler quite often if that makes a difference. I used to have BBToday installed but I uninstalled it.

This only started after I upgraded to 4.1

Thanks
AS

Oh turn up the heat... Ah.. kust kidding. I have not heard a lot of success stories on 4.1 with the 7520. I would quickly suggest a backout to 4.0.x. I am using 4.0.1 and quite satisfied with that version.

The only time I hadd issues with 4.1 was when using the new pixelitic theme from mobile.blackberry.com. Other than that, 4.1 was been great. I love the new features, as do my users.

i was once advised not to upgrade to the OS 4.1 until bugs are "sprayed with raid"

ever since I updated I am having problems with connecting to a few of my softwares
Webviewer cant connect ever since I updated and IM+ seems to reconnect every few minutes.... arrrgh

What's kewl though is the assignable ringers to different contacts.. but then again if I am sticking to OS4.1 for that feature, I could have stayed with my i870

Using 4.1 on Nextel 7520 with no problems whatsoever. I upgraded my boss's bb to 4.1 also and he's not having any problems either ... for what it's worth!

How would I go about "rolling back" to 4.0.1?

You use the forum search, but your problem sounds like a corrupt database, try restoring from a known good backup.

my .02
no troubles with the 4.1 except a bbtoday which I may have caused myself.
Do not understand the post by go2duke as it would deter some folks from trying this etc

I have figured out what's wrong with my BB7520 after I installed the OS 4.1

After configuring and re-reconfiguring again and again the whole day today (from wiping handheld database, service book and network) I reinstalled the earlier version of OS 4.0.2 to find out if the new OS was really the issue. And guess what? It still was giving me more problems after I downgraded from the lastest OS version.

When I select [Options][Theme], my BB freezes and even doing a soft reset, it still has that same state. So after removing all applications and removing the OS 4.0.2 from my desktop and from my handheld... I figured that since after installing the latest version of OS the only thing I basically did was downloaded the "pixel" theme that was downloadable under the [Theme] option. So it must be that, right?

So before I finally reinstall for the last time my OS 4.1, I figured I had to delete the "PIXEL" them from my application library [Options][Advanced Options][Applications] since I cannot use the [Theme] option under the [Option] section to delete it coz it freezes.

I reinstalled the lastest OS 4.1 and restored my database and everything. Logged on to my Web Client and downloaded my Service Book/Internet Browser Service Book and made sure I got that running before testing my applications.

IT WORKED!!!!!!

I guess I will just work with the Default theme.. I'm happy with it.

Now all my applications runs fast and smooth and with no connection problem.

Now my IM+ doesn't look funky and my display doesn't overlap (two smileys overlap each other) and my WebViewer surfs (no more Connection Timed Out)
