Angry Email to Blackberrys down all day

Please Login to Remove!

Is anyone else out there having email delivery to blackberry issues today?

I checked my BES and don't see any issues so was wondering if there were any known outages today.

Apparently Blackberry "Tier 2" support via Nextel is closed today and they nicely told me this and cut me off on the phone. So I didn't get any help there!

We don't have a support account directly with RIM so I am unsure what I should do now?

We have 50 users with Blackberry's and none can receive email or send email (get the red X next a sent email on the device).

My Exchange is running fine, BES looks to be running fine...

I am running Exchange 2003 and BES 4.0.0.110

Thanks
Kathryn

Have you checked your BES logs? What does the DISP and MAGT logs indicate?
Does your SRP status say connected? Can the devices do a PIN-PIN?

Call NexTel back and have one of their Tier 1 people to escalate you to RIM. If they won't, then go through the supervisor - enough 'yelling' should get you to where you need to be.

All 6 of our BES were down from yesterday until this morning (SRP Disconnected, BBSRPTEST failing), around 6 AM PST. Status changed to Connected for about 20 minutes, then Disconnected until 10 minutes ago. All back to Connected state right now with the BBSRPTEST now passing for all 6 BES. I don't have a warm fuzzy feeling for problems like this just 'fixing' themselves.
I waited for 90 minutes last night when I called RIM (yeah, thanks T-3 rates, that extortion got me nowhere), so I figured there must be a large outage on RIM's side.

Check on your firewall that 3101 is open. We've had the firewall teams make changes and not get the rules back in place right. There's a utility called bbsrptest, I think you can download it from blackberry.com but it may have been installed by default with the source files. If you run that, it shows you if you can get out of the firewall or not.

Nothing wrong with our BES and BB service this weekend. We are on Nextel as well.

Our problem was an internal one, had several modules fail on an internet router, but not enough to make it fail over to a backup.
