Default Outlook Contact Dupes With BES + Redirector?

Please Login to Remove!

I have a company supplied 8700c running on Cingular with BES, which syncs wirelessly with the corp Outlook contacts. I wanted to add my personal contacts to the 8700C, so I deactivated the wireless sync and used the Desktop Redirector Software to sync my personal contacts. I seem to be getting duplicates of the local entries. Any way to fix this, or do it differently?

Thanks in advance.

IMHO you should use only one method to sync your contacts not both. If you have to do what you describe above, try using categories i.e. put all your personal addresses in a different category and the office addresses in different categories. Then check if you can configure Intellisync to only sync addresses in the personal category. Not sure if this will work but worth a try.

Default Thanks!

Not too familiar with Outlook categories, but I'll give it a try.

Much appreciated!

You cannot just synch certain categories only which Contacts database to use.

Same thing here. Only my problem is being caused by old IT Staff doing things one way, and the new staff doing them a different way. Basically, the problem is, each person used to sync contacts from a contact management program called Time Matters to outlook. When we fired a contractor and hired real onsite IT people they wanted to centrally manage the TimeMatters sync to one Public Outlook folder, which makes perfect sence. However, we now have several people who have the contacts in their person contacts, as well as the public contacts. Is there anyway to go through and compare the two folders and create a seperate Contacts folder with only the differences?

Also, some of the people who have the 8700c's are having problems with Address Indexing, meaning, after syncing nearly 17000 contacts, it does not Index them all. When you search for a name that you KNOW is in there, it does not find it. Any ideas there?

Thanks in advance.
