Question Why to switch to BES 4.x

Please Login to Remove!

I am trying to convince my bes admin to upgrade from 3.7 to 4.1...
Can someone in this forum give me some selling point on why we should upgrade?

thanks

You mean the BB software or the BES?

If your BES is v4 or v4.1 you want version 4.* on the handheld because tasks, contacts & memo's sync OTA.

If your BES is v3.* (or 2.2 for Domino) you do not really need version 4.* on the handheld. Only if you want the picture viewer, the cooler BrickBreaker or password keeper and some other stuff

If you're talking BES Server...

Two words: Wireless Provisioning

Ok, and some other words -
If you update your HH to version 4.0 and server, your HH's will report back inventory information (apps version, IMEI #, phone number, Memory size, and much more). Very nice for inventory purposes.

Wireless activation is the main reason I upgraded. It has saved us HOURS and HOURS in support time to get a new user off and running.

With BES 4.1 I could never get the wireless enterprise activation to work. I had to use the Desktop Manager. But with BES 4.0 it worked without a hitch.

Being able to switch users between handhelds without setting a bunch of stuff (2.2 for domino) was nice. Don't know if that was the same in 3.7 though.
