Default A different question about Zen on 7130e

Please Login to Remove!

Hey folks got a question about the Zen theme on my Alltel 7130e. I like this theme because it seperates out emails and sms messages, and tells you on the home screen how many of each you have waiting to read. My problem is if I have the "show number of unread messages" AND the "show application names" checked in the home screen options, it makes the "SMS And MMS Messages" part too long and cuts part of it off. Is there anyway to change the size of the font on the home screen or make it read "Text Messages" instead of "SMS And MMS Messages"!?!? If not can someone design a Zen theme to accomplish this!?!? thanks for the great forums!

The Zen theme doesn't have a template for the Plazmic Theme Designer, so no new themes can be made based on it, unfortunately. With that said, it cannot be altered, currently, either.

Want to do me a favor and send me the Zen theme, though? Just follow the instructions below (this assumes you are on Windows):

- Unzip JavaLoader.exe to your Desktop from the attached JavaLoader.zip
- Click on Start then Run and type CMD and click OK
- This should bring up a command-prompt at C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\
- Type the following:
cd Desktop <enter> (don't type <enter> - just push it)
JavaLoader.exe -u save net_rim_theme_bb_dimension_zen_240x260 <enter>

This should now create a net_rim_theme_bb_dimension_zen_240x260.cod file on your Desktop. If you can just email that file to me, I'd be very, VERY thankful (and possibly many, MANY others on here, as well).

Here is an example of the DOS/command-prompt (example is for the Dimension Icon theme, since I don't have the Zen theme):

C:\Documents and Settings\username>cd desktop

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop>

C:\Documents and Settings\username\Desktop>JavaLoader.exe -u save net_rim_theme_bb_dimension_icon_240x260

newer versions of handheld code for the 7130 series (7130e and 7130g/c) will include the Zen theme. this has been a speculation for quite some time now. it appears that the 7100 series devices will not get this theme with their OS (atleast not in the next wave of releases).

So the alltel 7130 has the zen theme on it already?

yep, apparently so. the only problem is that alltel doesn't make their software available like other carriers do.

just login to the customer support area and see if you can find anything. i know they offer the desktop software, but... either way, we should have the theme within the next few weeks from Bell and/or Verizon.

Yes, the Zen theme came pre-installed on my Alltel 7130e. I would be more than willing to help getting the theme out there but I am on a BES so i do not know if it will let me (just found out I cannot download applications while on the BES :/)

I assume you have the USB cable that came with it? If so, you can follow jibi's instructions above to export the zen theme.

whsbuss is correct. there are no policies in place that won't allow the handheld to connect to a PC. the only thing is that you'll need to install the USB drivers for the handheld on your PC - these come with Desktop Manager (should have been a CD included with the handheld).
