I just got th new 8700g for T-Mobile.
Best purchase I ever made.

I now need a Bluetooth device for the car.
I have never been a huge fan of headsets, that is why I am looking at the Parrot ck3100 but wonder if it is worth the cost plus install compared to a headset.

I am just concerned about the sound quality both on the car speakers and for the person I am talking to.

Any and all comments are welcome

I own a 2007 Cadillac Escalade. Bluetooth integration is NOT equipped in the 2007 Escalades. :o( The dealership and GM both recommend the Parrot. GM dealerships here do the install without voiding warranty. I have had this particular model (CK3200) for about a month now and have only the best things to say. Clear calls on both ends, no complaints..however, the install can be expensive. Would recommend you take it to someone you trust as the audio integration can be tricky. Let me know how it goes for you. So far, I am the only person I know with this setup. Would be interested to hear your experiences and opinions. Oh..I'd check out smart phone depot, their prices seem to be the cheapest. Plus..they're trustworthy.

I find audio quality, volume and functionality to be great on the JX-10, better than any of the others I tried (I tried a lot!), but it is fragile. I broke it carrying it in my front pocket. Glued everything back together and all is well now.

JX10 is a POC, plain and simple. Way too fragile, earloop falls off easily (be prepared to go fishing for it in your pocket every time you retrieve it), earpiece volume too low, proprietary USB (not standard mini-USB), earpiece crackles at max volume...but the biggest negative is how the DSP absolutely mangles your voice to the person on the other end. It's absurdly overpriced for such a poor performer. Spend your money elsewhere.

Sorry to be so blunt, but I tested it for one month to make sure I put it through its paces. The problem is you can't buy these in stores for the most part, so you can't easily return it without incurring shipping charges. Otherwise you could buy it, test it, return it if necessary. There have been others who like it, but they are in the vast minority. Several people have reviewed the JX10 over in howardforums.

Never have had any audio problems (on either end) with my JX-10. In fact, it has simply been the best - sound and function-wise. After glueing the ear piece on, it has never been a problem again. I'd be careful making decision on one bad report. You can always return it if it doen't meet your expectations.

Agreed - if you can buy it locally, all the better. It would stink though to have to pay shipping if ordered online, which is predominantly how the JX10 is sold.

As for one bad report, go to howardforums and do a search. You'll find many people complaining about the JX10 - poor ear loop design, volume too low, DSP stinks, etc. All for a ridiculously high price. No offense, but Jabra clearly went for the upper crust set more intent on how it looks vs. how it works. Just read their marketing material and watch the videos on their website of the yuppies tooling around what looks like Europe. Any ad that emphasizes the actual packaging of a product ("with a nice velcro strip") tells alot about the target market.

I decided to pick up a JX-10 anyway.

I've had it for about a week and must say I love it. So much so that I've put both my Plantronics Discovery 640 and Motorola HS700 on Ebay for sale.

The JX-10 is super comfortable to wear for long periods, the volume is great (plenty loud) and the connection I get when carrying my Blackberry in the holster is perfect.

Yes, the ear piece clip does have a tendency to fall off from time to time when I carry the headset in my pocket. I may end up super-glueing it on eventually.
