One thing I'm noticing is that the device is talking to the network A LOT more since the upgrade. And I've had a few "Network coverage insufficient" messages since the upgrade. Never had those before. As a result, my battery is burning down pretty quickly. I was at 65% by 10:00 this morning. Had to hook it up to my computer to charge.

I have heard that when your on the fring of covage on in dead spots, bb spend a lot of time looking for a sig.
I have not noticed any extra "talking"...
Have you checked to make sure some 3ed party app is not running in the background pulling data from the big clould in the sky?

I'm not in a fringe area. Google Maps was stuck in some sort of loop. We'll see if that fixes it. I have an extended battery coming today, so that will alleviate the fear of running out of battery power, too.

Update: No, it wasn't Google Maps causing the problem. I'm showing a {, or 1x, right now and am unable to using the internet. Of course it all could be conincidental. I suppose Verizon could be having network trouble right now. It is unusual, though.

No issues here for 3 verizon 7130's that were upgraded. Works like a charm. I just wish I knew how to delete the extra themes. I will NEVER use most of them, but im not sure which modules to delete since they arent labeled by theme.

On the Zen theme, I can't find a way to hide sent SMS messages. Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Worked great on my 7130e.

Only issue so far is that the MP3 player interface looks like it was designed for the 8700 screen as it is not fully visible.

Update: I tried to install Spot, and when it reset it got the 523 error.

Has anyone tried installing software after upgrading?

I got up and running again, but then reinstalled some basic software and it gave me a 523 again. I'm loading it one last time and going to install one piece of software at a time and see what happens...

....I'll update this post as I go.....

......update...I can get back, but as soon as I try to install software after the phone restarts I get a 523 again.

.......update....tried again and it died installing blackberry attachment service.... I saw it also had an issue syncing the addressbook - so I pulled my address info off the server...maybe that will help/fix it.....

c:\javaloader -usb wipe (3rd time)

....update broke again.... another 523

Any suggestions? Is the phone supposed to reset when you install something new on the new os?

Is there a way to have the device not restore the databases? Somehow during activation it does this (with the radio off - so it isn't bes)...

....update.... wiping again. Office Tech says to do a wipe from the security software that the bes team loads over the air automatically.....

......update....wiped/security wipe and then installed one program successfully... then the device started downloading the activation files and after trying to install a program after activation - it gives me a 529...

I would love some expert advice here...I'm getting bald.

I just disabled the local redirect and I think that might be downloading something 'bad'. ...Last try before I quit and revert.

.....update.....I did the double wipe again and I installed pretty much everything I need to operate when i installed the os. It worked and now I have a working phone and I can email work and personal and make calls. I'm going home and hopefully someone will clue me into why as soon as I install a program - it kills my device.

one nice thing about the sasktel os is that anyone with Bell, Sasktel, Aliant, MBTel can upgrade without having to remove the vendor.xml file, as they've listed all the carriers within the BWA(Bell Wireless Alliance) together. kinda neat, mine just asked if i wanted to upgrade even before i removed the xml file.

worked flawlessly, thanks jibi!

Worked like a champ on my vzw! the two dimension themes are great. really like the style of the zen, but like the "wing style" battery and signal meters of the icon theme.

Does anyone know if this software would work for a US Cellular 7130e also?

For those of you looking for the blackberry.alx link, the similar thread under the RIM Software thread has some zips posted for it somewhere in the middle of the conversation:
www . blackberryforums . com /rim-software/34598-sasktel-software-blackberry-7130e-4-1-0-299-includes-zen.html?highlight=unlock+7130e

(Sorry I can't post links, too much of a newbie here, just paste that all together without the spaces)

OK, I just installed this, and lost my apps, but that's ok.

What is the advantage of using this on a Verizon 7130e?

All I have is new themes. Are there any other benefits?
