Exclamation No such thing as 8700i

There will be no iDEN 8700. Sprint will swallow up Nextel and Nextel will get the 8700 CDMA version.

I have the 7100i. Should I switch to the sprint network for the 7130. Wait to see what happens with the 8700.

Uh, Nextel reps are saying Q4 for an iDEN 87xx, November specifically. Are they getting this info from some circular loop of rumor forums such as this one?

Nextel won't be swallowed up until at least 2008 and the Sprint/Nextel networks won't be 100% compatible until 2010. That's when the iDEN network will be dead (sold off to the DoJ) and Sprint will be the only thing left.

I'm fairly sure that they will bring out more phones before 2008.
