I just got my 8700g from t-mobile and had a question. When i have no service, it just says "searching" or something like that. My old phone said "emergency calls only". There isn't anything i can do to get that back is there? I do like to know if i have a signal, even if i can't use it. I have to do a manual network scan and cingular might show up.

I upgraded it to the Telstra's .309 software and my signal improved a bit. Anything else i can do? Just curious.

To get your signal back, pull the battery out, wait 30 seconds then put it back in and see if it comes back. Or turn wireless off and back on.

Sorry, i might have wrote it wrong. I was wondering if the blackberry has the ability to show other non-usable gsm signals, even if i can't use them. Like how the sony ericsson's and other phones show emergency calls only with the signal strength. Its fine getting the signal back. I hope i explained that right.
