I just wish here in Canada BlackBerry data was cheaper on Rogers Wireless. $60/25MB w/ $7 per/MB over I wish I was a Cingular custie sometimes
This just goes to show...No matter how bad it is, it could always be worse.

Sorry Rogers customers.

From what I heard is that it looks that BES access will remain at the $49.99/$44.99. But we need to wait and see. The other thing is the new web access would be beter than the current using the BB APN as BB palces too many restrictions on the browser.

Anyone else thinking of dumping the BES? If the rate doesn't drop, and I can see why Cingular would charge more for BES, it's mostly corporate users, we would be paying over $40 more a month for BES. If you use Yahoo! for your email, you get the important parts of BES with the new BIS2. This must really suck for EMM.

Please explain this statement. As I understand it, Yahoo on BIS 2.0 is only a one way reconcilliation of the inbox, Sent andn Delete folders. Do you really consider this to be the most important parts of BES?

Thanks for your Help.

It's official!

It'll be like T-Mo, a personal BIS plan and an enterprise BES plan.

It's in the middle and the bottom of the 7130c announcement.

Link to press release for the 7130c

Nice Post ... I am excited I will be able to save $15 on my Wife's BB Data Plan ... Since she is BIS ONLY. No hope for me I use BES and BIS but good thing my company pays for my BB Data.

Same for me, but I was hoping for a price reduction because my accounting dept. is dumb and reimburses $45/month no matter what the plan actually costs. A price reduction would lead to some nice extra lunch money.

I had to call Cingular this morning about another issue, and I asked about the new plan. Apparently, it showed up in the system today. They are attempting to switch me to it, but I've got data connection refused for now. On the phone with Cingular Blackberry support...

UPDATE: Tech support says the plan is not available on the network yet. ...only in billing. And, the press release mentioned here says that the new plan will be available on Monday, June 12. Looks like I jumped the gun. They're switching me back to my old plan.

So reading all of this BIS/BES new cingular plan with alot of interest...

Question...when you guys say BES, do you mean Cingular's BES?? I ask because I work for a company that has its own BES servers. If I use my companies BES Servers, can I "downgrade" to the $29.99 plan from my current 49.99 unlimited plan and still be able to attach to my companies BES server and without additional charges?

What i posted was just our launch announcement. That it is coming very soon! As soon as the links are updated on CSP ill be able to relay some more concrete info!
Any word on whether the limited plan will be reduced? Or will it be removed all together since $29 is a pretty good deal (TMobile's $19.99 with Voice is of course better) Just curious because currently I have my wife on this plan because she uses very little data (less than 2MB per month). Right now we receive a $10 credit on each data line. So I pay $34.99 for mine and $24.99 for hers. I plan on switching to the new personal BIS plan to save another $5. Not sure if they will allow me to continue to receive the $10 credit if I switch.

How do you get a 20.00 credit?

I don't think this changes anything for EMM. EMM has SOLID CS and Support, and EVERYTHING always works, and people pay for that service because well, they didnt wanna dick around Yahoo or someone. You end up paying Yahoo for Blackberry Services anyway. I know for me, I want to use my personal email address, and not a yahoo address or whatever so BES is fine with me. Granted my blackberry bills total up to about 60 a month, I'm so satisfied with the setup I don't really see a reason to switch.

I'm not versed well with BES but I was under the assumption that the BES plan just allowed your company's BES to communicate with your blackberry. So in essence most companies have their own BES.

But I could be totally off and you could be paying just to use Cingular's BES and data plan.

Cingular doesnt have a BES, *Blackberry Enterprise Server that synchs with an exchange account*. They have BIS *blackberry internet server* which pulls email from your pop accounts and pushes it to you device. Most of your bigger companys have there own BES bu t there are some solutions for those of us who dont work for those bigger companies, and thats a third party BES hoster, such as exchangemymail. I don't know whats different on the carriers end, that would differentiate between BES and BIS but apparantly its possible.

Well, maybe I misread, but Cingular does have Med/Large Business accounts and email and paging services for them, and BB is checked as one of those servers...is this not BES?

So basically what you guys are saying is the 29.99 plan will not allow BES connectivity.

That's correct. The $29.99 plan will not allow BES connectivity. No, the Med/Large Business accounts are not BES, they just allow BES connectivity. BES is either self-hosted or outsourced to a third party (e.g., ExchangeMyMail or MailStreet, and others).

There's going to be a flood of calls on Monday to Cingular. I'm going to hit a store and see what goodies I can finagle out of them.
